Working Title Computer Systems Analyst
Brief Position Overview

Communicate critical and system wide issues with users and management. Evaluate, install, configure, test, document and implement new or updated hardware and software. Provide technical knowledge, skill and research to projects. Install, configure and maintain hardware and software inventory system. Keep hardware and software inventory current, providing detailed inventory reports and statistics. Create, deploy, manage, and update computer images. The computer systems analyst also assists users with data systems through a variety of methods, including database maintenance, backup, SQL queries, programming and other methods.

Position Details

General Statement

This position provides 2nd level user support and maintenance relating to computer hardware, software, voice telecommunications, and the network infrastructure used by Great Falls College MSU to assist faculty, staff, and students.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluate, install, configure, test, document and implement new or updated hardware and software.
• Provide technical knowledge, skill and research to projects.
• Install, configure and maintain hardware and software inventory system.
• Keep hardware and software inventory current, providing detailed inventory reports and statistics.
• Create, deploy, manage, and update computer images.
• Assists users with data systems through a variety of methods, including database maintenance, backup, SQL queries, programming and other methods.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

• Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer Information Technology or equivalent experience in computer technical support, programming, desktop imaging
• Knowledge of computer information systems and web applications, relational databases
• Experience training end-users
• Experience in technology customer service
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Technology or a related field;
• Microsoft Professional series certification
• Experience in a College or University setting
• Database query languages, report writing, and database management.

Physical Demands

Lifting and moving of large objects (60 lbs.) on a current basis. Must be able to stand/sit for long periods of time. Must be able to climb up/down ladders. Must be able to bend, squat, and twist.
