Position Details

General Statement

Great Falls College MSU is seeking a Dental Hygiene Program Director. The Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Dental Hygiene Program. This position also includes teaching assignments and overseeing of the onsite dental clinic. This position is critical to the overall functioning of the Dental Hygiene Program and the work of this position will have an influence on the success of program and the work of the faculty of the program. The Program Director will collaborate closely with the Division Director and Associate Dean/CAO in all matters of teaching and learning at the college.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Overseeing of the operation of the onsite dental clinic including supply ordering, operational funds and daily financial production reports, development and compliance of the onsite dental clinic policies and procedures such as HIPAA and Record Management.

- Teaching assignments 7-8 credits each semester

- Administrative responsibilities including:
- ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation yearly surveys and continual evaluation that required standards are being met with self-study development and onsite visit every 7 years. Next one due 2018.
- Student records and advisement
- Program Policies and Procedure and Clinic Manual development and revision
- Facilitate two advisory committee meetings each year
- Supervisor of the Dental Clinic Manager

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

- Graduate of an Accredited Dental Hygiene Program
- Active Dental Hygiene License including Local Anesthesia credentials
- Current Knowledge and Educational Methodology in the Discipline
- Master’s Degree in the Discipline or Related Field
- Experience with ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation Standards and Site Visit
- Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, administrators, and diverse community groups;
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills;
- Computer literate, including Microsoft Office software.

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

- Experience teaching in a two-year college;
- Experience with instructional technology;
- Clinical or educational administrative experience;
- Supervisory experience
- Experience in basic educational theory, instructional design, and methodology;
- Experience in student evaluation and outcomes assessment;
- Knowledge of the clinical community;
- Commitment to quality education and to the professional development of faculty and staff.
